Mock 2026 NHL Draft: 1st-round predictions after trade frenzy
The 2026 NHL Draft will be held June 26-27 at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, with the first round on Friday and rounds 2-7 on Saturday. NHL.com writers project the Toronto Maple Leafs will select Penn State left wing Gavin McKenna at No. 1, the San Jose Sharks will pick Frolunda left wing Ivar Stenberg at No. 2, and the Vancouver Canucks will select Brantford center Caleb Malhotra at No. 3. The Buffalo Sabres moved up to the No. 4 pick after trading defenseman Bowen Byram to the Chicago Blackhawks, while the Sharks also acquired the No. 9 pick from the Ottawa Senators for forward William Eklund.
