The PWHL's expansion roster building process has ended, with the four new teams—Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose—emerging as major winners by acquiring elite talent and 25 Olympians through favorable expansion rules and draft order. The eight existing PWHL teams suffered significant losses of franchise cornerstones, though Vancouver stands out among them by retaining its talented core including captain Ashton Bell and goalie Emerance Maschmeyer while adding first overall draft pick Caroline Harvey. Vancouver lost some defenders including Sydney Bard, Nina Jobst-Smith, and Mellissa Channell-Watkins, but will be able to largely run back a similar lineup from last season with the addition of Harvey and a new head coach replacing Brian Idalski.
