Blackwell, Grimaldi Among Preds Still Competing for Roster Spots
With four preseason games completed, the Predators reduced their roster by 20 players on Sunday and assigned four more to the AHL on Monday, leaving 28 remaining competitors. Forwards Rocco Grimaldi and Colin Blackwell have made notable impressions during training camp and remain in contention for roster spots, with head coach Peter Laviolette crediting their fast, competitive play and experience. Grimaldi, a 5-foot-6 forward, has appeared in NHL games during each of the last four seasons and has posted at least 31 points in each of his past four AHL seasons.
