PWHL announces historic first outside investors

The PWHL announced Kilmer Sports Ventures and Ilitch Companies as the league's first outside investors, though financial terms were not disclosed. Kilmer Sports Ventures is a Toronto-based firm led by Larry Tanenbaum and operated by Ivan Gazidis that also invests in the WNBA's Toronto Tempo, while Ilitch Companies is the parent company of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. The new investors join existing investors Mark and Kimbra Walter as the league plans for long-term growth.
