The Florida Panthers traded forward Mackie Samoskevich to the Seattle Kraken on Sunday in exchange for a first-round pick (No. 25) in the 2026 NHL Draft and the better of two second-round selections available in the 2027 NHL Draft. Samoskevich, 23, recorded 32 points in 77 games for the Panthers this season and won the Stanley Cup with Florida in 2025; he is eligible to become a restricted free agent on July 1. Seattle's general manager noted Samoskevich's speed and shot, and added that the forward will work with Kraken center Matty Beniers, his former University of Michigan teammate.
