Eats the toughest matchups every night, drives the breakout, runs the top pair minutes. If he played in Toronto we'd already be calling him a Norris guy. Dark horse, sure, but he belongs in the chat.
60 points playing the matchups he plays is a legitimately excellent year, and the 82 games matters more than people think. Norris-level? I'd say he's in the next tier of the conversation rather than the front of it, but a dark-horse mention is fully earned. The two-way value is real.
As someone who watches the D corps closely: the assist total is no fluke, it's a product of his retrievals and first passes. He turns defense into offense as well as anyone we've had since the prime years. Best blueliner on this team without question.
