Offseason fake-trade lab: turning Cossa into a center?

Since Cossa's name is floating around in rumors anyway (more on that in the other thread), let's USE it. Hypothetical:

Wings get: a young middle-six center

Team X gets: Sebastian Cossa + a mid pick

Logic: he reportedly needs waivers to go back to the AHL, so it's promote-or-trade for the crease regardless. If you're trading him anyway, package him for the position we actually need. Gibson's the starter, so. Roast away.

careful trading away your goalie depth for a forward, that's how you end up back on the goalie carousel. Gibson was great but he's not young, and Talbot's a pending UFA. you might WANT Cossa as the bridge. don't sell the crease just because the skater need is louder.

this gives me anxiety lol. Gibby basically saved the season in net and behind him it's a question mark. moving Cossa for a forward when the goalie future is already shaky? hard no from me unless the return is real.

Once again Tim's "Team X gets" half is concrete and the "Wings get" half is a fog. Who's the young center? At what AAV? Cossa plus a mid pick gets you a depth body, not a difference-maker. Math doesn't fix the lineup here.
