Danielson cooled off and got sent back to Grand Rapids

Update on Nate Danielson. After a roughly two month look he cooled right off, about seven points over the stint and then pointless in his last 11 before being sent back down. Disappointing in the moment but honestly this is normal. Nineteen year old centers do not arrive in a straight line. The center depth is the thing we are all watching and Danielson is still very much part of that picture. A reset in GR with big minutes is the right call.

Thank you for framing it this way. The amount of people already calling him a bust is exhausting. Kasper went through the exact same thing and the discourse was brutal. Let the kid breathe.

pointless in his last 11 is not great no matter how you spin it. just calling it like it is.

The last 11 is noise honestly. What I care about is the underlying play away from the puck, and by all accounts he was still doing the right things, the points just dried up. Production droughts for young centers are basically a rite of passage. The shooting talent and the 200 foot game are intact.

He is going to feast in GR on a club this good. Sometimes a kid needs to be the guy again for a stretch instead of the 13th forward. I expect a strong finish down here.
