Wrapping the on-paper version so we have it in one place.

Record: 41-31-10, 92 points. Highest point total since 2015-16.

Standing: 6th in the Atlantic, 10th in the East. Eliminated April 11.

Goals: 241 for, 258 against.

The leaders, because they're the good-news part:

- DeBrincat: 41-44-85, team best in goals AND points. The trade looks like a steal.

- Raymond: 25-51-76, led the team in assists, real two-way leap.

- Larkin: 34-33-67 in 74 GP, 14 PP goals (8th in the NHL) despite the injury.

- Seider: 10-50-60 in all 82, Norris dark-horse chatter.

- Kane: 57 in 67, point-per-game after the Olympic break.

- Edvinsson: 25 pts in 72, one of the better young shutdown seasons in the league.

- Gibson: ~29 wins, 2.72, .901 in 57 starts. Net MVP.

The sobering part is right there in the goal differential. A negative-17 team finished where negative-17 teams finish. Good top end, not enough depth, and it caught up to them down the stretch.

85 POINTS. 41 goals. I said the day of that trade it was a heist and I'll say it again now that the receipts are in. Told you so doesn't begin to cover it. Top Cat carried this offense.

76 POINTS and people STILL find ways to nitpick Lucas. 25 and 51, led the whole team in helpers, and the defensive game took a genuine LEAP this year. He's 23. TWENTY THREE. Stop comparing him to whatever you imagined in your head and watch what he actually became. Best two-way winger we've developed in ages.

.901 and 29 wins behind a team that gives up 258. Gibby SAVED this season, full stop. I get a little anxious about the crease going forward because Talbot's a UFA and Cossa's situation is its own thing, but for this year? The Anaheim trade was the move that kept us watching meaningful hockey into April at all.

Negative seventeen goal differential and we're throwing a parade for 92 points. In '97 a team that got outscored on the year didn't get a participation thread, it got run out of town. These numbers are nice. Nice doesn't hang a banner.

Good rundown but nobody's going to mention the dot? Fine, I will. We got eaten alive in the faceoff circle in the third period of close games and that's a quiet reason the leads didn't hold. You can't defend a lead you never get to start with possession of.
